Measure thickness difference within brake surfaces at 8 point (spread
over the circumference) with a
micrometer gauge

apparatus.
IMPORTANT: These instructions only apply to vehicles without active
pedestrian protection !
Removal of the engine compartment lid must be carried out with the assistance
of a second person.

Removing And Installing Actuator Unit With Control Unit For
Parking Brake (EMF)
Necessary preliminary work
Remove BOTH REAR WHEELS.
IMPORTANT: The following work must only be carried of ISID diagnosis
system with
software version 02.21 or later.
Delete fault memory.
Check function of actuator unit.
If actuator unit is defective, set BMW diagnosis workshop mode.
